Lagunos de Los Tres: Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday!

Up early again, with a hearty carby breakfast to fuel ourselves. Our guide, Rodrigo, worked with us to have box lunches delivered to our hostel from a local bakery.

We embarked on a hike from our hostel, leaving around 8am. We met up with guides from the National Park, Lucas and Layla. As we are an organized group hiking in the national park and are required to have a local guide. This provides employment for the local population, puts more eyes in the park to ensure people are respectful, and provided us with stories and good company along the way.

In total we hiked for nine hours on the Laguna de los Tres trek. We were treated to many amazing views along the way, and were incredibly fortunate to have a clear view of Fitz Roy and the seven peaks.

Rodrigo has connections and made us (a group of sixteen) a reservation at the best place in town. We both had the steak chorizo and it was fabulous.
